A downloadable game for Windows

Hypotheticals is a detective game where instead of solving cases, you make them up. Given a set number of evidence, you use the items around your office to fill in the weapon gaps. As long as a case is plausible, it counts. Just be careful not to run out of possible solutions for future cases.

You play as North C. Case, a cold case detective known for their hypothetical cases. Unfortunately for the police department, every hypothetical is correct. Either by hidden genius or dumb luck, they solve every cold case they are given with 100% accuracy. Though that means whenever an evidence box is opened, everyone at the station needs to be ready for a chair or lamp to pop out.

This game was made for the Bad Ideas Game Jam (2026) based on the theme outside the box. Everything besides the music was made by me in unity. This includes the code, the 3d models, the textures, and the sound effects. The music comes from Pixabay, and I've triple checked to make sure there is no AI at all in any of the songs used. As a first game, I'm proud of how it turned out. I might continue working on it in the future depending on the feedback, if any.

Overall a very fun time, helped me learn a lot about game development and what skills I need to improve!

It was a very interesting and fun game, took me a minute to figure out everything, I was confused until I got the twist. Make sure to look at the wall to the right of the Board to make sure the Board is reading everything correct

Made me start over again when I had one case left don't waste your time...

Hi! I just finished version 1.1, which should fix a few issues with the loss system so that a loss should register a lot sooner. And the text over the table now says the cause for the loss, at least through the future wound that would have caused it.
